A1 - Good Typography?

Wait, Blink, design by Na Kim (FSG)

I chose this as my graphic design example due to the typography visually communicating by working as an
image. We began to go over this in class and it interested me because as a person who usually deals with photos or film, I rarely think of type as being imagery. I specifically wanted to find something that pleased me aesthetically without being over top of a photograph.

This design appears as the cover of a book, so I imagine that its purpose is to catch the attention of potential readers who would be known as the receivers in Visual Communication.

The sender of this message is Na Kim. conveying a sort of movement within the type while remaining soft and simplistic. I think that the message in suppose to be inviting. The colors are calming and the type is interesting enough to make someone look twice.

With this particular design the typography contributes everything to the design, it is being used as imagery. It seems to be aligned and spaced out well following basic principles of typography. The concept seems to follow the title of the book. I feel like the letters are blurring and falling as if the person was looking at it too long with out a blink. The time passes and the letters age, like a person who feels stagnant. I do not see typographic craft being an issue with this particular design.
